John Henry Doc Holliday, 1872, age 21
This photo is said to be of Doc during his years as a young Texas
dentist, ca. 1875-76:

Note the blonde complexion in this unretouched photo. Compare
to his dental school graduation photo above.
Some of the photos of Doc in circulation are unauthenticated
and/or retouched. It is important to remember that journalists
thought little of altering photos during the late nineteenth and
early twentieth centuries. Photos of Doc were sometimes altered or
retouched to make him appear more sinister.
 

This is the photo of Doc Holliday reportedly taken in Tombstone,
Arizona in early 1882:

Some question the validity of this photo based on the dark coloration (Doc was an ash blonde,
as can be seen above).
This photo has been lightly retouched to make the hair, eyebrows and
moustache darker and heavier, but the facial features (which, in
spite of the crease in the photo, can be seen clearly in this
front-facing portrait) are Doc's.
